In addition to in person services, I provide online therapy sessions to residents of Illinois and New York using a HIPAA secure platform. Although online therapy based services and care may not be as complete or effective as face-to-face services, I recognize that certain circumstances require this form of connection. I will work collaboratively with you to ensure that your needs are being met.
Eligibility and Limitations for Online Counseling Services:
It is important to realize that online therapy is for individuals interested in more goal directed or personal development oriented work. It is effective for individuals who are seeking short-term support for issues that are unrelated to major crisis, severe mental health issues, suicidal, homicidal or violent behavior (past and present). This service is not intended to provide in-depth psychotherapy as this particular venue is not entirely suited for such purposes, as stated above.

Online Therapy is not appropriate if you a re experiencing the following:
- If you are having thoughts of harming yourself (e.g. suicidal thoughts) or harming someone else (e.g. violent thoughts toward others) or psychotic symptoms. Please call 911, 1-800-SUICIDE (the National Suicide Hotline), (800) LIFE-NET and/or notify the police and/or seek emergency care at your local hospital.
- Have a history of suicidal, homicidal or violent behavior or present as suicidal, homicidal or violent.
- If you are in an abusive or violent relationship.
- If you have been seriously depressed.
- If you have serious substance abuse dependence.
- If you are a minor (under 18 years old).
- If you have a history of major psychiatric episodes, hospitalizations or drug/alcohol dependence.
- If you have been diagnosed as any of the following - Borderline Personality Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder Type 1, Mentally Ill/Chemically Addicted (MICA), and/or Schizophrenia.
